GR86 / BRZ Clutch spring

Just buy it already. And buy it from Gktech and not that other competitor because you get two springs for the price of one. - - - Springless feels best, but you need a spring to keep your throwout bearing functioning. I went with the 66% reduction. Now my clutch feels like my 90's MR2! I couldn't feel the bit point from a stop before, now I can. 1-2 shift was tough, now it's easy. The springs make the clutch much more linear. No more resistance then overboosting. Yes, there is "slop" at the beginning of pedal travel, but seriously, if you complain about it, you are a prima dona. The clutch feels great now with more control and feel. Peace and love.

Great springs for my 2016 BRZ. Noticed a big difference in clutch pedal feel. Better then the competition as you get 2 for the price of one of theirs.

Game changer

The simple modification has changed my overall driving experience with my GR 86. I had complaints about how the clutch engagement felt from day 1. Now out of all three of my manual cars it’s absolutely easiest to drive.

If you have a 22+ toyota gr86 then this is a must! I've installed this clutch spring in both my 86 and it's 100% improvement. You can't beat the quality and price of the gtech!

Better Clutch, Served with a Side of Yoga and Sore Back

One of the best mods you can do on a GR86 / 2nd gen BRZ, delivered promptly and in excellent condition by GKTech. You get two springs to choose from, so pick your poison and prepare for a bit of yoga if you are installing this in a RHD GR86.

No exaggeration, the install will have you contorting yourself into the footwell, practically turning into a human bridge just to get your head in position to remove the clutch assembly (required on a RHD). I used needle-nose pliers, a hammer, a small flathead screwdriver and some self supplied grease. All up, it should not take more than about two hours.

I went with the 66% spring, and I can confidently say it was 100% worth the sore back the next day. It completely removes the kick at the bite point, making the clutch feel far more linear and controllable. The slightly heavier pedal is also not nearly as bad as the description made it seem.

After installation, there is a small amount of slack right at the top of the pedal travel now, but honestly, you will not notice it while driving unless you are really looking for it.

Overall I can without a doubt recommend the 66% spring - it's cheap and makes the car way more enjoyable. Haven't tried the 33% spring and can't say I see myself going through that install again to do so.
